Our Mission. We support area neighbors 60 years and older to continue living independently in the home of their choice through community volunteerism. Our Vision. By working together, the aging members of our community will live longer, happier, and more meaningful lives. Care History. We are one of 32 programs in Minnesota that make up the Living at Home Network. Each of these programs focuses on providing services that help seniors thrive in their homes. Our program was founded in 2002 as “The Foley Area CARE. (Creating Appreciation and Reciprocity with Elders) Program” by a steering committee of concerned community members, assisted by the Central Minnesota Council on Aging and the Elderberry Institute; and with the help of a Living Well at Home community services grant from the State of Minnesota, and a generous cash donation of over $20,000. In 2004 CARE began serving seniors within a 10-mile radius of Foley. In 2010 the board of directors revised the acronym to more accurately reflect what CARE does, Community Action Respecting Elders. By 2013 our program had expanded to a service area which included all of Benton County and its surrounding areas, and with that expansion came our name change in 2019. As we move into the future, our focus will be to meet the needs of the increasing numbers of seniors asking for help to remain living in their homes. Board of Directors.
